I still remember everything about that day, where I was when I heard about it and watching those incredible scenes of t.v. Never forgotten that’s for sure, so we’ll do this for all of you:)
THANK YOU to all the firefighters and military at the gym for coming in and making yourselves better equipped to handle anything that may be thrown at you in the line of duty. For being brave enough to take on the role that so many others, including myself, aren’t strong enough or brave enough to do. For going IN, when so many others are running OUT!

I wish I could be there today to do this! I grew up with one of the firefighters lost that day. Patrick O’Keefe. Another large Irish Catholic family down the street. We all went to school together. His dad and brothers were New York City cops. The word is that he called his wife when he left the first building to let her know he was ok and was lost in the second building.
I thought I would put a face to one of the names on that list…
It is an honor to know you guys and girls who sacrifice to protect us. Thank You!
JoAnne, thanks for sharing that story. That day impacted all of us, some more than others but nevertheless, it changed all of our lives. We never know what life will throw at us next. That’s why we train like we do so we can take on anything it brings. So that we are strong both physically and mentally to take on new challenges.
Great job to everyone on the WOD today. You all fought hard and I was very proud of all of you. Even with me changing the WOD to make everyone do 343 reps, I felt that was important, no one complained and everyone did a rep, hard reps, for each person lost that day. Thank you!

I will never forget 9/11/01, and I will never forget today’s WOD. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to do something in memory of all the people who gave their lives in service to others that day.
110 floors is NO JOKE in full gear and tools. WOW. That was an experience of a life time! I am so glad that I got the chance to do that climb. I just kept telling myself. . . They will all out, so why shouldn’t I go all out! Now for some recovery!

You’re probably right that it would have been an awful experience, and they likely would have taken credit in the end for any creative input you had in the process…everything happens for a reason, and I’m sure you’re better off where you are now! It also sounds like you learned from it, so that’s invaluable!
