Teamwork!
Last year we hosted the Kill Cliff Teamwork event at Evolve and it is probably my number one favorite thing we’ve ever done. For those who don’t remember, this was a 24 hour event where we performed one hero WOD on the hour for 24 hours. The workouts were structured to be a team workout, scaling was prominent, and you only did the workouts you wanted to. Registering for the event benefitted the Navy Seal Foundation.
This year they have announced that the official Teamwork event would be held in November to coincide with Veterans Day. Although we understand the significance of this, for us the logistics of 24 hero workouts where most of them include running outside is not a great fit for November in Colorado. Couple that with cold temps, the doors having to be closed, limited daylight, kids in school, etc. and we quickly realized that we wouldn’t be able to make the event what it was last year if held in November.
With that we’re going to host the Teamwork Event on July 12th and 13th. Here are some things to know:
If you do the event with us in July, we ask that you register for the official event in November. This will get you your tee shirt and make sure that the money goes to the Navy Seal Foundation.
The workout will start at 4pm on Friday July 12th. The final workout will start at 3pm on Saturday July 13th. Why? Because after last year we ended on Sunday morning and everyone was trashed from not sleeping. We felt that we’d try this to see if ending at 4pm on Saturday we could get some food after, go to bed early, and hopefully recover enough that night and have Sunday before starting the week on Monday. We’ll give it a try and see.
We’ll give you more details soon, but wanted to get it on your calendar and allow you the opportunity to plan on getting out of work a little early on Friday the 12th to start with workout #1. Get it on the books and lets have some fun for a great cause!
