Runnin in!

The Next Program.

We wanted to let you guys know about an exciting change to our programming. For the last 18 months our gym has been following Train for the Win Affiliate programming and we have been pretty happy with it. It’s been good for us as athletes, and we know it’s been good for you as well. But we also know it’s important to constantly evaluate everything that goes into making Evolve as great as it can be and of course part of that is the programming we write or follow. We want to give you the best with everything we do and this is part of that process.

For many years we did all of the gym programming in-house. This was great for us because it allowed us to address what we felt were the specific needs of our gym members. But it also came at a cost including significant time required and unconscious biases depending on who was programming at the time. And let’s face it, there are some amazing programming tacticians out there that provide really strong, well rounded programming for both general physical preparedness (GPP) and competitive fitnessing. It’s hard to justify doing our own thing when there are excellent programs available to us.

So we talked, looked at what we were currently following, researched, reached out to other affiliates using different programs, and evaluated what we learned to see what direction we should head to give you, our athletes, the very best that we could. In the end we decided that Evolve is going to follow CompTrain Class Programming. Most of your are familiar with Ben Bergeron, CrossFit New England, and the CompTrain program. We’ve been in touch with friends who own other affiliates who have been using the program and they absolutely love it. We’ve spoken to athletes who follow it, and they too love it. 2 years ago I personally followed CompTrain Masters programming and thought it was fabulous. To us this is going to be a great change, and ss coaches and athletes, we’re really excited to get this going!

So we start today with “Handlebars”! We value your feedback so if you have any questions or want to give us some feedback on the program once we get into it please let us know!!
