TGUs.

Today’s WOD includes Turkish Get-ups. This is a great movement that requires a lot of coordination and intentional movement. Although today’s workout is “for time”, the TGU is not the place to make up that time. We’ll detail all of the steps for the TGU so you get them down, and we’ll provide time to work on them in order to reinforce the proper sequence. You may have heard the adage “slow is smooth, smooth is fast”. Well that’s completely accurate for the TGU. Rather than rushing through the movement and getting sloppy, we want you to remain steady and make sure the execution is perfect. 

Afraid that taking your time and doing it right might negatively impact your time? Well you’re in luck! You get to do 20 burpees and 30 back squats after each set of TGUs. Don’t stop during the burpees and go unbroken on each set of back squats and you’ll post a blazing time all while keeping your TGU steady and technically sound. That’s a win-win!!!
