Training For The Big Picture.

Today is a straight up work session. We know it’s sometimes hard to wrap your heads around this, but today is more about HOW than HOW FAST. For the farmer’s carry you’ll use KBs or DBs. This will start the grip fatigue for the day! Then you’ll immediately get on the bar for some strict K2E. Remember that as the WOD goes on your grip fatigue will increase. No slipping off the bar. For strict K2E, we want to see contact with the actual elbow (versus the tricep/armpit). And no kip. If you can’t make contact without a kip, you’ll go as high as possible. No momentum allowed today. Following the K2E, you’ll have the Russian KB swing. Attempt for unbroken sets, even though your grip is shot! Finally, strict ring dips will finish the round. If you don’t have 10 strict ring dips you can cut the reps. Otherwise we’ll scale to a challenging strict variation. Kipping through the dips won’t be an option.

There are training days where we’re doing things not for the sake of doing them, but to make us better overall. Today is one of those days. Learn to embrace these training sessions with the understanding of the big picture!
