Camaraderie.
Camaraderie is a term that’s often used to describe what goes on within the walls of a CrossFit gym, and with good reason. One of the common definitions is a mutual trust and friendship among people who spend a lot of time together. That’s a pretty good explanation of what goes on within the CrossFit community,, but today I heard a better definition. I was listening to The Cleared Hot Podcast and Andy Stumpf’s guest was Robb Wolf. They were talking about the early days of CrossFit since Robb was part of opening the 1st CrossFit Affiliate. They discussed camaraderie and Stumpf through out this gem of a definition: shared suffering and laughter. I don’t believe it could be said any better and it’s a perfect explanation of what we have going on.
When people ask about why they should train at Evolve we point out that we post all of our workouts every day, for free. All you need is access to a globo gym and a phone to look up the workout. It’s about so much more than the workouts. And camaraderie is one of the things that comes with training within the walls of a box.
So today when you come in, make the goal to share some suffering and have some laughs with your crew. That’s the recipe for the good stuff!
