The CrossFit Games Has Changed A Lot Since 2010!

Ready for a little CrossFit Games Throwback? As we wrap up the Open, which then leads to Regionals and then the Games, it’s crazy to take a look back to the old format. 8 years ago there was no Open that qualified you for Regionals. If you wanted to compete at the Games, you would first pay a small fee and go to your local “Sectional”. This was a sanctioned CrossFit comp that was programmed and put on by a local gym. In 2010 CrossFit Verve coordinated our Rocky Mountain Sectional. The top finishers of these Sectionals moved on. It’s crazy to see the progression over the years and where things are at now!

Below is a little gem that was shared with KV, which she then shared with me. There were a few of us who participated in Sectionals this year. In the video, keep an eye out for some of your Evolve peeps: Gino was out there judging and you’ll see Kristine R and KV doing some box jumps, as well as Chris G….to the old standards, which were awesome! Also note the music. Very CrossFit! Enjoy this little trip down memory lane!
