Lucky you, today is Fran! If you’ve done it you know. If you haven’t, you will. Do you remember when Josh wrote as part of the goals of this programming cycle “We are also going to ask you to go to the “dark place” more often by using shorter WOD’s as a platform to forgo pacing and just go all out”? Well today is that day. The point of Fran is to go. That’s it. To not stop. To be in that anaerobic place for 4 or 5 minutes. It’s very different than a 20 minute AMRAP. Your approach needs to be different as well. Today is not about RXing the workout. It’s about picking a load that you can do with minimal breaks, if any. If you don’t have pull-ups, it’s about choosing a scaling option that allows you to keep moving while getting in the work. It’s about showing yourself that you really don’t need to rest, that you can go start to finish.
