Yep, we bench today!
Are you excited to meet Linda? This is a great classic, but one that is really hard to do during regular WODs because each person sets up 3 bars and proceeds to chip away at the work for time. So today, we’ll take a little different approach because we think it will still be fun!
Today you guys will set up in teams of 2 or 3. It will be wise to base these teams on your numbers for the lifts. This will minimize weight changes. You’ll each know what weight you’ll use for the deadlift, bench, and clean (yes it’s a squat, because it doesn’t say “power” in front of it, right?!). With each of your weights, you’ll come up with a plan for each bar that will make changing weights easiest. Yes, math is hard, so the coach will help with this if you need it.
At 3 – 2 – 1…go the first person will start. Once they’re done with the deadlift, the next person will make sure the appropriate weight is on the bar and will then deadlift, etc. We’ll have the clock running, but the time you post won’t really be an accurate number because there will be some periods of waiting. No big deal. That being said, we still want you to hustle. There shouldn’t be any standing around and talking. There should only be working. And awesomeness. That’s it!
We’ll give some more details during the briefing but come in ready to get after it today. This will be a great way to end the week!!
