Getting Inverted

From simply jumping into a static hold against the wall to walking on your hands up and over obstacles, we can all use some focused work on being upside down. Today is your day. You’ll get the chance to practice this outside of a WOD. Work towards support, practice freestanding holds, or work on walking on your hands. Have fun!

The goat: a movement that you generally hate. You avoid it. It keeps you up at night if you see it as a part of tomorrow’s WOD. You might not even come in if it shows up. That’s the goat. Well today you’re going to slay the goat. Well, 2 goats actually. Today you’re going to pick 2 movements that you suck at. And then you’re going to do them so you get better at them.

Today during the skill session the coach will go around and talk with you about your goats. You guys will come up with a rep count that works with the movement and load (remember, 10 reps for 10 minutes is 100 reps, so you have to be smart here). Today will be all about your approach. If you come in with a crappy attitude about this, how do you think it’s going to go? You think you’ll get even a little better at either of the movements? You won’t. Come in with a good mindset and understand the point of today and you’ll find some improvement. That’s what it’s all about!!
