Parallette Handstand Push-ups
We’ll review setting up for the HSPU using the parallettes. It’s different than using the floor. A big part of this will be how to kick up without putting a hole in the wall.

A couple of notes on this one: We haven’t seen this hero WOD before. The times ranged on the mainsite page from 20 to 45 minutes. We’ll cap this one at 35 minutes. This is a heavy load with a high-skill gymnastics movement. Scale appropriately. Also on this one, NO OLY SHOES. Sorry, but with the parallettes the risk is too high for you to put your heal through the wall. It’s OK, if there was a 400 between rounds you wouldn’t be wearing them anyway!

A post from Kendra V…don’t you love these?!
Where My Peeps At?
Bro- sesh. Hang Out. Sweat.
Share stories. High Five. Get Advice.
Community.
Cardio- stamina- strength- flexibility- power
none achieved without the support of others.
speed- coordination- agility- balance- accuracy
success never as sweet without someone to share it.
One of the things I love most about CrossFit is the network of friends that has
developed as a result of countless hours and reps in the gym.
A strong community born from a
common mission-common goal- common pain.
Community.
Now don’t get me wrong, we’re connected in other ways too…
at work- at school- at church
But the culture developed within the industrial walls of a CrossFit gym is unique.
There’s something dynamic that happens when
chalk dust and steel and bumper plates come together to…
forge our fitness
forge alliances
forge elite friendships
Nothing demonstrates this more than being
that last dude on the bar
everyone is done.
EVERYONE.
And there you are, continuing to work under the watchful eyes of
EVERY person in the gym.
I’ve been there. And I don’t care what anyone says about how the last guy gets the most
cheering and the last guy is the hero when the last guy keeps moving and persevering
until the clock runs out.
IT SUCKS TO BE THAT GUY.
(it should be noted I say, “guy” but that also means the ladies too)
But, regardless of how it feels to be the last man (or woman) standing…
your peeps show up when it counts
in the last seconds of the
WORST WOD EVER!
They show up with their
wooting and screaming and cheering.
They stand WITH you so that
you’re NOT the last one standing.
Community.
And, that’s not all…
it turns out the CrossFit Community extends outside the gym.
I’m serious.
You need help moving?
Someone to watch your kids?
Tutoring- Repairing- Jump Starting (your car)?
In your daily life those peeps will STILL have your back.
You see, because there is something amazing and awesome and really rad about
fighting for a rep and a breath and a PR…
with your buddies beside you.
A sense of community springs from
feeling with someone else.
Oh I can hear the haters already,
“Really? A workout can connect you with another human?”
Oh hell ya it can!
And it doesn’t matter if you scaled or did it RX or failed…
or are injured or come 2 days a week..
what matters is that
you are here
at all
Building OUR Community.
Speaking of community…
what do you have going on at 6:00 on Thursday night?
Nothing?
Rad.
Head over to the gym and watch WOD 14.3 revealed with your
EVOLVE COMMUNITY.
It’s really fun to watch the world’s finest compete and make the workouts look easy.
And when you do the workout on Friday or Sunday remember…
you’ll have your peeps cheering like hell for you because
this community
it’s rad.
