Muscle-ups

Today the coach will work with you on progressions. We have folks who are at various stages of MUs, and there are specific things we can work on to target what we need to. Today you’ll get to try some out and choose one to use for today’s workout.

If you have muscle-ups, work on getting warm for the WOD today.

How many of you have heard from your friends that CrossFit is dangerous? We’re often asked us about the dangers when they hear we coach at a CrossFit gym or when they call because they’re interested in checking things out and learning more. There’s been plenty of press about how dangerous CrossFit is for you. Outside Magazine (of which I’m a subscription holder) published Is CrossFit Killing Us? and then a follow-up Crossing Swords with CrossFit. There’s no denying that what you do in the box each day carries a certain risk of injury. We do our best to mitigate that through instruction, coaching, progressions, and scaling. Does it completely minimize risk? No. Can we still do better for you? Absolutely, we work to get better for you every day. Here’s another article from Outside Online titled The Hidden Dangers of Hot Yoga. The fact is that any fitness regimen that is risk-free is also going to be ineffective. With that, focus on the form and technique, listen to your coaches, and think of your time with us as a journey rather than a race. We’ll continue to learn and get better on our end, and we’ll all be better – and safer –  for it!
