We needed the snow, but it didn't have to take out our sign!! Keep your head up as the snow melts the next few days!

Oh Barbara. Looks like no big deal on paper, but you know what they say about WODs with presribed rest! Barbara can be a daunting WOD to be sure. I talked to some of the groups the other day about preparing mentally for a workout, and doing some things during the WOD to keep your thoughts in line so they help you, not hurt you.

Spealler had a recent post on his blog about keeping your head straight during the Open. One of the points he talked about was setting micro-goals during each workout. I've tried this and it helps! The point is to set small, attainable goals that you'll reach throughout the WOD. When you accomplish them, it gives you a mental boost. This keeps you going strong…mentally strong.

Today's WOD will be a great oppotunity to put this to use. Don't think about the 5 rounds, or how many squats you have left to do, or whatever other negative thoughts might creep in. Set small goals and only focus on what you're doing, not what's left to do. This can be a challenge sometimes, but you have the ability to do it. Put this into play today and see how it works for you!
