Here's a quote shared by Forged:

"Even the greatest was once a beginner. Don’t be afraid to take that first step."

This quote has a lot of merit. Everybody starts from the same place.  Nobody ever magically becomes great at something. It takes time, consistency, practice, and patience. You could take that quote a step further though. Many folks will take the first step, but once they do, they immediately compare themselves to the people who are great, and become quickly discouraged. It happens a lot in life, and it happens a lot in the gym.

It's important to keep things in perspective. Chances are the people you're comparing yourself to have been at this CrossFit thing for years…some have been at it many years. How realistic is it to wonder why, at month 5, you're unable to put up the weight or throw down the times that your more experienced friends do?

Keep your chin up, keep your expectations realistic, put in the time, be consistent, do the hard work, and you'll get to where you want to be!
