On Friday our friend Michael at CrossFit North Fort Collins will be hosting a benefit for one of their own:
We’re going to hold a Fight Gone Bad-style workout at CFNFC
to benefit our athlete Emily R. who has recently been diagnosed with acute
myeloid leukemia. This is Emily’s second battle with cancer, she’s been in
remission and is being attacked by a different and more aggressive type this
time. She and her husband Corey are graduate students at CSU nad have been
Paleo and super active and healthy and pretty fantastic climbers for as long as
we’ve known them.
What we’re asking is for folks to come support Emily’s fight
against cancer by taking part in one of our Cosmic CrossFit nighttime workouts.
The workout will be 3 rounds of 5 stations of a minute of
work at each station and we’ll have bumping music, black lights only during the
WOD (so you can wear your crazy neon and white) we can run 25 people at a time
for as many groups as needed!
We’re asking for a minimum donation of $15 at the door which
will get you a raffle ticket and any donation above it in $5 increments will
get you another ticket for nice prizes.
Other ways you can help monetarily is to have friends,
family, and co-workers pledge money for points scored as well as bring a
checkbook and/or cash for silent auction for some higher-dollar items that we’ll
be auctioning like training packages, hotel rooms, expensive wine, massage
therapy, etc.
Thanks to all for supporting our friend. You are yet another
reason why CrossFit’s community rocks!
We have a great opportunity to help a fellow CrossFit athlete from our home town. Please consider getting together and heading over there on Friday night. We'll help coordinate it on FB, on the blog, and at the gym.
