I saw some great things in the gym yesterday. I saw some folks who had never split jerked before shove themselves under the bar as agressive as all get out. I saw one of our fellas get his first muscle-up warming up for the WOD, and then proceed to get some MUs as RX'd after 30 power cleans and 50 wall balls. I saw several folks go heavier than they ever have for power cleans, fighting for each rep, and finishing.
There was one thing in common with all of these folks…confidence. They had confidence in themselves. They had confidence in their training. They had confidence in their ability. This is an important component. Those of you who have been at it for a while have surely experienced what happens to your Fran time or a PR lift when doubt creeps into your head right before you start. It usually doesn't end well. It happens to all of us at one time or another. The mental game of what we do can't be understated. You have to have confidence in yourself and what you're about to do.
I want all of you to make a conscious attempt to approach your WODs with confidence. Whether you look at the blog the night before and you think about the WOD as you drift off to sleep, or whether you walk through the door and get a daily surprise from the white board. Approach the WOD with confidence. Have confidence in your ability. Have confidence in your knowledge. Have confidence in your coaches. Have the confidence to crush it!
