Look at this group! Evolve had a HUGE showing of support this weekend. Thank you friends, family, and the Evolve crew for making the drive down each day to show the love! You have no idea how great it is to have you guys with us!
Man oh man, what a weekend! My head is spinning from what went down. Team Evolve was one of 126 teams who competed in the Southwest Region during the Open. At the end of the 5 weeks of WODs, the team was 10th and headed to Castle Rock for the Regionals. At the end of 6 WODs over the weekend, Evolve finished 7th overall. That is friggin unreal! Not because there was any doubt that we could do it -we all knew the team would do great. There were PRs on snatches, PRs on WODs, PRs on unbroken muscle-ups – they went farther than they had before. But to compete at that level WOD after WOD is simply amazing. There were some big names from big gyms on the teams this year. On Day 2, the top 3 teams got some face-time from HQ on the Team Event Summary video below. At 1:55 you'll see some faces you migh recognize. The team we tied for 3rd with on WOD 4 "made short work" of WOD 4. I guess since CF Evolve tied them we must have made short work of it too! I think that suites us well - a team quietly coming in and getting their work done.
The greatness didn't stop with the team. It was so good to have so many friends and family there throughout the weekend. The Evolve crew came out in force to represent. There's rumor that some even missed work on Friday to be there! Gino and I received so many comments from our friends at other boxes about what a great showing our gym has at these events. You have no idea how proud that makes us. You guys always come out and it shows what a tight-knit community we are. We also have to shout out to the Evolve crew who volunteered their time judging this weekend. These things aren't possible without the volunteers who make it so, even if they "no rep" the crap out of us. And we have to congratulate to the extended family – Juli who finished 8th and Christina who finished 17th. Amazing work ladies!
The 2012 games season was great for Evolve. Can't wait to see what happens in 2013!!!
To the evolve team, you guys did amazing. It was great to see you all compete. As always so excited to be part of the Evolve family. Thanks to the team for an eventful weekend!
It’s always inspiring to watch you guys and girls compete. The amount of work you all put in to make sure you were ready definitely paid off. Great job Evolve!
