KG came in this summer and worked his tail off. One of his goals was a muscle-up. Today is Kyle's last day before heading back to Grand Junction for school. Here's a video of his first muscle-up, which he got yesterday! Good luck and study hard!

When we opened Evolve, one of our goals was to give something back when we got the chance. We're blessed to have had the opportunity to make Evolve a reality, to have unbelievably talented coaches, and to have you, our athletes, who are some of the most amazing people we've ever met. At Evolve, as well as the CrossFit community as a whole, there is a mobilized group of like-minded people who truly make a difference when brought together to work towards a common goal. We have had the opportunity in the past to raise money for great causes by hosting CrossFit events, and we've made a difference in people's lives through your participation!

On Saturday September 3rd, CrossFit Evolve will join affiliates across the world by hosting The 31 Heros WOD:

On August 6th, 2011, 31 of America’s bravest warriors gave their lives in defense of our freedom. While we’d like to leave the responsibility of announcing their names to their families & the DoD, for now we will honor them by mentioning their roles in our military.  They were 17 Navy SEALs, two Navy EOD Technicians, three Naval Special Warfare Combat Support Sailors, two Army Aviators, three Army Aircrewmen, three Air Force Special Tactics Operators, and one Military Working Dog.

These men were sons, brothers, husbands, fathers, and friends. Not only do we thank them for their service and sacrifice, but we thank those that love them for the sacrifice they have made as well.

The 31 Americans were not the only ones that died as heroes that day. While the funds raised through the 31Heroes event will benefit the families of the men listed above, we cannot forget the sacrifice of our Afghan comrades. Seven Afghan commandos and one Afghan interpreter were also killed in action and we cannot look past their sacrifice. They too are heroes and we thank them and honor them and their families.

CrossFit gyms across the nation and world will gather together to honor our heroes killed in action August 6, 2011 with a workout in an effort to raise funds for the families affected by this tragedy. All funds received will go to these families through the Navy SEAL Foundation, other like-organizations, & individual family funds.

The Workout

The workout promises to be a unique Hero WOD. 31 of America’s bravest have made the ultimate sacrifice for our sake. We can all agree that no workout will ever be enough to say thank you, but among this community it almost seems to be our version of the “moment of silence”, a small way we can honor the those that have gone before us. We hope you’ll join us for this moment of silence.

In regards to the specifics of the Hero WOD, it is still in the process of being created. We will provide more information as it becomes ready. Thank you!

Register for the 31 Heroes WOD here. The cost is $31 and will get you an event T-shirt. Please consider participating in this special event! Let us know if you have any questions!

  1. This is so great that Crossfit is doing this, it was a tragedy to hear about what happened to these brave men. My heart and prayers go out to their families. I’ll be there to support this fantastic cause!
