Jessica, one of Evolve's newest. Welcome Jessica!
We've been lucky to recently have several new athletes start with us. One of the things that we've continually heard from new folks is how nice everyone is and how welcoming the environment of Evolve is. This is because of you guys! All of you seasoned vets, think back to the first time you decided to try out a CrossFit box. You searched the web and blogs, saw lots of crazy videos, read about movements with weird names you've never even heard of, and decided to give it a try anyway. Remember that first time you walked through the door? That nervous feeling in your belly of what was about to go down? But when you came in, you met the coaches and the other athletes, and the vibe was positive, and you realized it was all good. You were going to be OK. You knew it was going to be hard, but you were surrounded by positive people and you felt like you made a good choice by trying this CrossFit thing out!
So with all these new faces, keep in mind your first couple of times walking through the door. Continue to introduce yourselves, help folks out when they need it, and make them feel welcome. Just keep on doing what you've been doing because YOU GUYS make this place awesome! For that, we say thanks! And to all of the new athletes, welcome to Evolve!
In my opinion, the group warm up’s and cool down’s with small chat is really positive. Great time to welcome new athletes as well. Thanks Jon and thank you Nathan and Trish for leading the 5:30 today!!
your right Todd!…made a big difference and was fun. thanks also to Nathan and Trish 🙂
Group warm ups just make the family bond at evolve even that much stronger!!!
Thanks for the warm welcome!! It’s true – everyone here is so wonderful!!
I completely agree! Although my time at Evolve was brief, I am very grateful for experience. I came to Evolve during a very difficult time in my life… but no matter how rough thing were, I new that I had a group of amazing human beings to pick me up, and inspire me to push myself. I am happy to say that I finally made it to Detroit, and am with my little boy Owen, who will be two in August! Gino, Jon, and the Evolve family, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there. I miss you all, and hope our paths cross again someday.
“Do something great today!” I swear I still hear those words when I am in the suck. 🙂
Great to hear from you Shawn! I’m glad to hear that you made it back to be with your son, and I hope all is well with you. Even though it was short, we still talk fondly of your time spent at Evolve.
