Shar is all smiles after finishing a WOD!

We all know by now that spending some time cooling down is an important component of recovery following a workout. Taking the time to stretch the muscles you utlizied as well as some 1 on 1 time with the roller or lacrosse ball can greatly improve your recovery, thus getting you ready for your next day's workout. Your muscles are already warm so it's a great time to work on mobility. It also gives your heart rate a chance to return to normal (or closer to normal anyway!). Finally, it gives you a chance to share the joys or sorrows of what just happened with your friends, which is as good as therapy but much cheaper!

Often times we're so busy it's tempting to run out the day after the WOD is over because we have work/school/get the kids ready/let the dog out. Many days the warm-up, skill or strength, and WOD take the full hour. Please know that you guys are always welcome and encouraged to take some time afterwards to cool down and stretch. So since it's Friday we will forgo a skill or strength in favor of saving some time for the cool down at the end. Try it out and see if it helps your recover from this week!

  1. What are you talking about Shar? That’s a great pic, and when a 6 year old steals the camera and starts shooting random shots, you get the cool perspective of a portrait with the ceiling as a backdrop. It’s very artistic!
