Tuesday's 9am and 10am WODers checking out the new space.
The recipes have been coming in like crazy – keep it up! This recipe I found on Juli and Anna's nutrition blog at Flex Gym. I was pretty excited to try this because I'm a fan of roasted red peppers. I wasn't disapointed. I threw down half a bag of babby carrots over the last 2 days digging into this stuff. For those of you having a hard time finding snacks, try this. Throw a little into some turkey or ham and roll it up and you will be happy you did!
2 cups shelled walnuts (soak them for at least 1 hour to soften them; it’ll be easier to process them this way)
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 – 1/4 tsp. salt
1 jar (12 oz.) roasted red peppers – drained
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 tsp. lemon juice
In a food processor, pulse walnuts, cumin, and salt until walnuts are finely ground (like the consistency of Hummus). Add peppers, garlic, olive oil, and lemon juice. Whirl until smooth.
Dip in your favorite veggies or whatever you like. This snack is packed with nutrients such as omega-3 from the walnuts and lots of vitamin C in the peppers…both super important nutrients for crossfitters.
Shar….
AGAIN with the soaking of the NUTS…..apparently it IS in water…who knew? Weird. (hahaha, I said, “soaking nuts…”)
Ugh…this workout is no joke…did it last year on christmas eve…there were definitely no good tidings the next day lemme tell you that…and stairs were the bane of my existence…still plan on doing it with a vest…gotta bring some knee pads tho!
I bet that dip would go good with potato chips…hypothetically speaking of course.
I hear you Ryan. I am grateful for the elevator at my office, but unfortunately that is not the only place I have to be today that has stairs!
That dip is really good if you just cut up a cucumber and pretend like they are potato chips haha, still wonderful. Anna is an AMAZING cook, she comes up with everything she makes on a whim
I have a new weight loss trick!!! Its called “row 2600m as fast as you can and then eat a block of food”. Turns out you can’t gain weight if you puke your food up 😉
I know Kendra, how funny it came up this week on the website:) lol!
This WOD is no joke! Tomorrow, getting out of bed, will be brutal!
I’m excited to try this recipe out! Yah for day 7!!!!
Had dinner out tonight…salad with egg, vinegar, avacado, salmon, etc.—was so disappointed and had to pay alot for it. Let me hit the “DISLIKE” button. We would have done much better at home. Paleo has really brought up our choice of meals……..it was a work thing though…can’t wait to try this recipe.
