Rest Day! Lots of resting!

Ryan on his way to 1st place overall male finisher!

What a day! I don't even know where to begin! Blake and Amos did a fanstastic job setting up their second annual open, and it wouldn't have been possible without all of the volunteers, including our very own Neil! Thanks to all of those guys and girls! The WODs were unique, and there were lots of movements that were new to everyone. But, as always, everyone shined!

The first place male was our very own Ryan Garcia. Second was a firefighter we work with at PFA, Ross Reinking. Third male was Jon, who happens to be our very own Juli's significant other. What a great sight to see those 3 on the podium. They  did GREAT! On the female side, a friend and fellow firefighter at PFA Kristine Reinking finished first over all. Very cool!

But as we all know, it's not all about where you finished, it's about how you finished. Kelley, Juli, Mike, and Donnie all blew it up. They worked hard, got PRs, and always had smiles on their faces. We couldn't be prouder of all of you guys. You are what this gym is all about!

A big thanks to the MANY Evolve athletes who came out to cheer on their friends. You guys represented well and it was great to have so many of you out there. It was a long day, but we hope it was fun too!

We received a bunch of comments about you guys – how great all of you athletes performed, how personable and nice you were, how many people showed up to show support (that tent was filled)! This is what it's all about you guys. This is the community we're trying to build, and you are making it so. So we thank you guys. You're the best, and you make this place what it is! Get some rest today because it's back to work on Monday!!!

  1. Congratulations to everyone who participated! I am impressed by anyone who is courageous enough to compete. You guys pushed through some serious pain and heat with such positive attitudes. I had a great time cheering for you, and I was proud to be in the Evolve tent! Way to represent!

  2. Strong work everyone. Wish I could have been there! I guess my big question is what was the third WOD?

  3. Scott, the third WOD was complicated so we will have to tell you in person. It was a series of skills that you had :50 sec to complete with a :10 sec transition time!

  4. Such a fun day! The boys at battle ready really did an awesome job putting this together, and to top it off, the atmosphere and the company was just as rewarding! Great job everyone!

  5. PS
There were a lot of cameras out there today, so thanks to everyone who has shared the pics so far…I took some good ones as well with my camera, so I planned on making a disc for everyone…they will be at the box on Monday!

  6. That would be great. Anyone else who has photos that they would like me to put on facebook, please send them to me and I will put them up.

  7. Kristine Reinking

What a great day! Props to Battleready for putting on such a great event ~ it was a wonderful opportunity! Great job to all the athletes and volunteers who worked so hard and to all you diligent trainers for your constant encouragement and support!

  8. It was great to see you all go through all 3 WODS. You all give us inspiration, motivation and drive everytime we are with you in the box. It was awesome to see you all push through the pain and end in a smile. Great job all you evolvers!!
