Rest Day!
Ray fighting hard to keep his elbows high!
Here's a home made protien bar recipe from Ryan. Sorry no pics for this one, but he swears by them!
Protein Bars
1.5 Cups unsalted fresh grind peanut butter (sunflower market or whole foods)
1.5 Cups of fresh grind almond butter (sunflower market or whole foods)
2-3 Cups of fresh raw Oats
Approx 10 Table spoons of honey (add to taste for sweetness) (optional-no preservatives from sunflower market)
8-10 Scoops of Any Whey Protein (GNC $29.99 or in bulk at vitamin cottage…not as good as GNC brand, gritty protein after taste, but considerably cheaper than GNC)
1.5 Cups of soy milk (optional)
4-5 Cups of chopped, mixed, un-salted nuts. (Bulk aisles at sunflower market or whole foods)
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl…spread evenly in 1'' deep jelly roll baking pan (12×18)
No baking necessary, leave pan in fridge for ingredients to settle….2-3 hours…cut into even square pieces..makes 25-30 bars..they are thick so they don't need to be cut that big. Store in plastic bags in the fridge.
With all ingredients combined, the bar makes for a great pre workout or on the go snack. Anywhere from 12-18 grams of protein in each bar depending on the type of ingredients used.
