Strength
Front Squat
Work up to a 5RM in 15:00
WOD
Every minute on the minute for as long as possible complete:
8 Thrusters, 95#/65#
8 Chest-to-bar pull-ups
This comes from our friends at CrossFit Eaton. Each minute you'll do the thrusters and pull-ups. The remaining time will be spent resting until the next minute, which you'll do the thrusters and pull-ups again. This will continue until you're unable to finish all the work within that minute.
Dustin at the pre-race gear check. What you see on the table he'll be pulling in a sled for the entire 135 miles.
This week you won't see much of Gino because he's in northern Minnesota? Why the hell is he there in January? Because he's supporting our good friend Dustin Hampton who's participating in the Arrowhead Ultra 135. This is a 135 mile race in frigid conditions where you pull a sled behind you with all you might need to make it through the race. The good news is that it sounds like mother nature is into the race this year, the lows will only be in the teens and there should be a full moon for Dustin.
For those who have been around for a while, you know Dustin has trained with us off and on all the while competing in ultra marathons, including doing the 200+ mile Wild West Relay solo, with some of your Evolve peeps by his side. We wrote about the experience on the blog. It's amazing what sheer will and mental strength will get you through, because with these events, it goes well beyond physical preparedness.
Get after it DHamp, we're rooting for you!!

Dustin is one crazy ultra runner and I wish him luck on this journey! You'll be in my thoughts and prayers for a SAFE yet FUN & rewarding run Dustin:).

For those that looked at the blog in the last 27 minutes, the strength originally said press. My bad, it's front squat. Enjoy!
