Doctor Shawn getting his squat on!
January is officially done, which means for many of you who were doing the Whole30 (or Whole31 as the case might be), you've made it. How did it go for you? What did you learn about how you function on a clean diet? Is it something you can sustain or will you modify it to get what you're after? These are all questions you'll have to answer, but we hope it was a good experience for you and you gained some benefit from it.
Along the lines of nutrion, an article was forwarded to me titled Heart Surgeon Speaks Out On What Really Causes Heart Disease. When I read this article, I was taken back. Reason being, I feel like things are starting to change. As the general public is starting to pay attention to what they're eating and the quality of their food sources, we're starting to see something remarkable...the medical professionals are starting to understand that the foods we eat have a greater impact on our health than they ever gave credit. Slowly, they're seeing the role of inflamation on the cellular level and it's impact on disease. This change will be slow no doubt, but this article may be one of the signs that things could be changing for the better.

Great article for February 1st. Friday is National Wear Red Day to bring awareness that Heart Disease is the #1 killer for woman. If you don't wear red Friday at least read this article. We have a lot of beautiful strong woman in our gym! Lets fight this disease by kicking butt in the gym!
